The Sherrill Silversmiths announced today, the hiring of Tim Bailey as Head Coach for the 2018 season. Tim returns to Sherrill after being a Smittie for their inaugural season in 2008, where he was a teammate of President Dennis Duffy and Vice President Mike Sherlock. The Silversmiths’ Board of Directors had the following to say about the hiring of Bailey: “Tim brings a wealth of baseball knowledge to the Silversmiths from his past experiences, and knows the Sherrill community and Silversmiths program being a former Smittie. He understands the expectations of the organization and we believe he is a great fit for what our organization is striving to accomplish both on the field, and in the Sherrill community.”

Bailey will be the 7th head coach in Silversmiths history. “I am extremely excited about the opportunity of returning to Sherrill to be the Head Coach of the Silversmiths. It is always an honor to be asked to return to coach a team you played for. I look forward to bringing success to the city of Sherrill this summer.”

A native of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Tim has been the Pitching Coach for Chicopee High School since 2013 and his staffs consistently rank amongst the best in the region. Prior to joining Chicopee High School, he pitched at American International College from 2008-2013 and was a teammate of Dennis Duffy. Tim was a Captain during his Senior season and led AIC’s pitching staff to the conference tournament. Since 2016, Tim has been the Head Pitching Instructor at Extra Innings Chicopee as well as the Head Coach of the Western Mass Diamond Jaxx. In his two season at the helm of the Diamond Jaxx, his team has finished First and Second respectively. Tim was also named as the 2017 All-Star Game Head Coach.
