SHERRILL, N.Y. - The Silversmiths would like to wish good luck to eight players who will soon be competing in NCAA Tournaments prior to their arrival in Sherrill.
San Jacinto-North | Jared Rhodes
Rhodes and the Gators have compiled an impressive 48-13 record en route to the JUCO World Series. San Jacinto earned a three-game series victory over Navarro in the Super Regional to set up a date in Grand Junction, Colo. with Miami Dade in the opening round of the NJCAA Division I World Series. Incoming Silversmith Jared Rhodes has notched five hits and four RBIs as a freshman.
Molloy | Ziv Gar, Timothy Mott, Chris Einemann
The Lions defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College in the East Coast Conference Championship after a 19-9 regular season to secure a spot in the NCAA East Regional. Chris Einemann totaled nine hits to help lead Molloy to the regional bid. They’ll take on Franklin Pierce in Rindge, N.H.
St. Thomas Aquinas College | Sean Lynch
STAC suffered the loss to Molloy, but was still able to earn a trip to the East Regional thanks to a 25-5 record. Sean Lynch had a big year for the Spartans as a freshman. He batted .412 with 19 RBIs - he’ll look to continue his impressive rookie campaign against Goldey-Beacom.
SUNY Oswego | Connor and Blake VanDreason
Connor VanDreason first played for the Silversmiths in 2018, while Blake joined him a year later. Both are welcomed returners, but still have business to take care of before heading home to Sherrill. Sitting at 24-5, the Lakers earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament and are set to play Husson University. Connor helped Oswego achieve that mark with a pair of wins and a save.
Misericordia | Joe Comins
The Cougars head to St. Paul, Minn. for NCAA Tournament action against University of Northwestern-St. Paul. Misericordia is currently 28-9, while soon-to-be Smittie Joe Comins holds five hits and three RBIs on the year.
The Sherrill Silversmiths are a 501(c)3 Not for Profit Organization taking part in the NYCBL, a league funded in part by Major League Baseball and sanctioned by the NCAA.
