SHERRILL, N.Y. – The Silversmiths are excited to announce the 2021 schedule, which is set to begin on Monday, June 7th. The opener will mark the team’s first action in 687 days.
The Smitties kickoff the 2021 campaign with a pair of road games before hosting the Syracuse Salt Cats on Wednesday, June 9th. Sherrill’s historic Noyes Park will play host to 21 contests this summer, including a 4th of July doubleheader with the Dansville Gliders. The regular season wraps up on July 24th.
The NYCBL schedule will take a short break for the July Jamboree, held in Cortland on July 10th and 11th.
Guiding the team through the 2021 slate will be Smitties co-founder Ben Grimm. The Sherrill native is currently in his 10th season as head baseball coach at SUNY Oneonta.

Seven players in the history of the franchise have gone on to play professionally, including Ka’ai Tom, a current member of the Oakland Athletics. Stay tuned for a 2021 roster reveal to meet this year’s stable of future stars.

The Sherrill Silversmiths are a 501(c)3 Not for Profit Organization taking part in the NYCBL, a league funded in part by Major League Baseball and sanctioned by the NCAA. Each summer the Silversmiths and the Sherrill Community welcome baseball players from colleges and universities across the country to aid them in their development. The Silversmiths have had 7 former players move on to play professionally, 4 players have been selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, and currently have 4 former players playing in Minor League Baseball.
